Our short story.
We are a family of people with servant’s hearts dreaming about a better life for each child in the world and in Pakistan in particular.
My husband grew up in a Christian family in this poor country struggling every day. He worked hard with his dad on a farm since he was a little boy. When he started school, he would go with dad to the farm and work there before and after school day by day. It was hard for a child, but he would work as hard as he could, often not having time to do his homework. He finished school and went to college. He earned his degree, but many times he would go to bed hungry because he was too shy to ask his dad for more money knowing that paying his tuition fee, paying for the dorm and feeding the big family at home was already too much for one pair of hands.
After going through such painful experience in life, he doesn't want any child in the world to suffer like he did. He is dreaming to raise up nations where children have great education without struggling to obtain basic needs on the way.
We have a strategy how to work with schools, children and their families, so the journey of getting education would be easier for them and more successful. Whereas public schools are hostile to religious minorities and the kids suffer from mocking and bullying, many Christian and Hindu families send their kids to private schools. Unfortunately, the teachers in those private schools are not highly qualified. We are planning to raise the quality of small private schools in villages and cities, to bring educated teachers to classrooms, and improve the condition of those small schools.
We are also dreaming about building a university where bright children from poor families can afford higher education with the help of needs based scholarships.
We believe that together we can raise up a lot of young men and women in this poor country, so they can bring prosperity and hope of better life to their own people.
